DRAWING MATERIALS FROM DICK BLICK
Conte crayons & sets
My preference is the Sanguine Conte. A box of 12 is the more economical way to go. I find that a portrait done in conte, such as the one at the top left-hand corner, takes about 3 to 4 crayons. You can also mix and match conte hues but with discretion, especially when adding black to a sanguine drawing.
Additionally, I prefer working on light-colored Canson Ingres paper. A Mahl stick and a few clean stumps plus a kneaded eraser, some fine-tooth sandpaper and a safety razor blade are all you need.
