Lesson 1 begins with a primer on dynamic composition and teaches you how to begin your drawing and maintain it to a specific size within the composition. The initial focus is striking the arabesque of a 5 year girl in 3/4 profile where your viewpoint is a little above her and continues with succinctly placing the features within the facial arena. 18:50 minutes.

Lesson 2 continues from the first lesson with blocking in and efficiently building up the darker tones of the ebony complexion. 13:18 minutes.

Lesson 3 illustrates how to place the features in the 3/4 view and achieving a solid 3-dimensional effect. In this lesson you are also introduced to the concept of streaking down which is a technique you can use to harmonize tonal passages and add sparkling lights to your drawings on textured papers. 13:07 minutes.

Lesson 4 we continue onwards building up the tonal relationships. Building tone is where many beginning and intermediate artists experience their greatest difficulty. 19:12 minutes.

Lesson 5 illustrates in depth the process of articulating the eyes with cross-hatching, stumping and lifting out. 20:07 minutes.

Lesson 6 develops the facial forms and features into a cohesive, expressive whole. 21:30 minutes.
