Once again I am stunned ... by your obsession with excellence and magnanimousness. I only wish that the students and artists I encounter found greater appreciation in what you have to offer. Many seem in such a rush to the 'goal' that they find little use of the process. An unpleasant side-effect of our instant-everything age, no doubt. They most often lack the insight, patience or gratitude necessary to really become accomplished artists. Their loss saddens me, while your dedication inspires me ... every time I return to your site, or open your newsletter, or view one of your many wonderful DVD lessons, I am reminded, both as a student and a teacher, but especially as one who strives for excellence as well, of what a Touchstone really looks/feels/acts like. Your passion and dedication defines your work and not only inspires you but us as well.
As I received yet another phenomenal ArtAcademy newsletter, I was struck by how many of us must receive it and never pause to let you know the impact it makes. I may not be your typical reader, as most of my time is spent in work that allows others opportunities to create, but what I receive from your work is no less dramatic or satisfying. Though I too often fall short of my goals, the aspiration is to be a touchstone of excellence in arts education (Music, Art & Drama), and you (your work, site, newsletter, & all they represent) are a continued source of inspiration for me to always strive to reach the goal, to never give up, to never compromise.
For all of this and more, I humbly say "Thank You." You are changing lives there is no greater gift we can give our fellow man.
With Humble & Respectful Gratitude,
